sorry for the late afternoon blog post, but it took me all day to find inspiration.

here's something to ponder: while trying to find out how many ants it would take to lift n average human, i came across this more interesting questions:

How many fire ants does it take to reach the moon?

well,

It is 1.4*10^10 inches from the earth to the moon and a fire ant is about 1/4 an inch so that is approximately 5.6*10^10 ants

while i don't fully understand the relevance of the question, i couldn't help but share it.
here is the answer, which is written in powers-of, which i think takes away from the "wow" factor of the whole thing....but really, i think its a real butt-load of ants.
